Independent Venture
Nov 2021 - Aug 2025
Founder
Ran a sneaker and marketplace resale operation, building the internal software systems that made sourcing, pricing, and execution more scalable.
KIC was not a venture-style software startup. It was a founder-run e-commerce and resale operation, focused mainly on sneakers and other marketplace-driven inventory. The technical side came from building internal systems that improved how we monitored product opportunities, automated parts of purchasing workflows, tracked inventory, managed pricing, and kept the operation from becoming purely manual as volume increased.
Notes
Tools
Python, monitoring tools, inventory tracking systems, pricing logic, analytics pipelines, and operational automation.
Built
I built internal systems for monitoring releases, supporting purchase workflows, tracking inventory, managing pricing, and keeping the business operationally tight as it grew. The software was built for a real commercial use case first, which made it a strong lesson in writing systems that had to be useful immediately.
Learned
Running this sharpened both my engineering and operator instincts. It taught me how to build software around real margins, real constraints, and real execution speed, where the value of a system is measured by whether it improves an actual business decision.
